Writer/Storyteller in Residence
If you’re looking for a more sustained impact on your literacy and other subjects including, Oracy, behaviour improvement and entrepreneurship then consider a ‘Residency’
A residency can fit with your existing targets and needs. Typically Richard will visit your school at least 4 times in the year and work on particular targets.
Recent and current residences have produced a number of pieces of work including, stories, plays and books, every residency is different and customised to the needs and culture of the school.
Through storytelling we can create unique projects that everyone can have true ownership of, organisations can promote them in the media without fear of being told that its been done elsewhere.
Previous projects have been featured in local, regional and national press and media, including radio and TV. It's always nice for our clients to get the positive coverage they deserve.
.
Residencies also play host to some great projects. They provide unique learning opportunities for staff, pupils, parents, Grandparents and carers alike. They also provide resources that can be re-used, and evidence for Ofsted. We’ve been creating totally original projects for over ten years. They would fill a number of pages, and whilst it great to have such a successful heritage, we also believe that you’re only really as good as your most recent stuff.
The projects and residencies are always original, always fun. And as such we’re always keen to work with new exciting schools.
Residencies can produce a range of outcomes, including;
Targeted literacy improvement for particular pupils and year groups.
Whole school projects.
The creation of new resources; including books and plays.
Coaching for staff.
Creation of workshops for parents/guardians.
A residency is only limited by your imagination, so get in touch to discuss your ideas and exact requirements.
Everyone in work has been talking about your wonderful workshops yesterday - I've had so many emails and comments from all staff praising you and the way you engaged the children. You had them under a magical spell! I love your comment about 'peaceful purposefulness' too. It's a lovely to think our school has that atmosphere.
You breathed such fun and life into everyone with your stories yesterday - you have a rare and special gift and had us captivated!
